Every Friday The Psychogenealogist shares a "Pic of the Week." The intent is to encourage thought and imagination about the spaces where psychology, genealogy, and history converge.

Here is an amusing photo of a vacation my great grandmother, Ida Rhoads Sears (1900-2002), took with two of her sisters to Disneyland (Anaheim, CA) in 1965. The back of this photo says: "Disneyland Jan. 23, 1965. Look how bashful Pinocchio is. Ha!"

Ida (left, touching Pinocchio's hand) was the youngest of about 15 siblings. Her sister Mary Rhoads (1893-1989) is in the middle. Amanda (Rhoads) Campbell (1895-1988) is on the right.

Disneyland first opened in 1955. 1965 marked the 10 year anniversary of the theme park. Here is a nostalgic look back at what my great grandmother and her sisters saw on their visit.
