My 2nd great uncle, Eugene Timothy Hanley (1896-1958), raised beagles and in 1938 was the president of the Lake Superior Beagle Club. Here is a photo of “Tim” (on the right) standing next to my great grandfather, Michael John Hanley (1890-1964).
This article from The Escanaba Daily Press (Escanaba, Michigan) on September 18th, 1938 states: “Tim Hanley is one of the foremost beagle men and much credit is due him for the work he has done in pushing the sport ahead.”
Here are a few photos of the beagles that Tim raised. These were probably taken in the 1940s and 1950s.
