Ice Cream in Italy in Full Color (1943)

This original black and white photograph comes courtesy of the Public Domain and the Library of Congress. The attached captions says:

“Palermo, Sicily. One American soldier who found his relatives in Sicily was Vincent J. Orivello [i.e. Crivello] of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, eating ice-cream at a sidewalk cafe in Palermo with three of his cousins. (1943)”

It has been beautifully colorized with rich, true to life colors by Okkama Colorizations, now providing services exclusively at The Psychogenealogist.

It captures a uniquely still and peaceful moment during the tumult of World War II.
