Ceramic Owl Lamp, 1978 - Family Artifact Challenge (Day 10)

This ceramic owl lamp was hand painted by my mother in 1978. It was one of the hundreds of projects she made with the kiln and ceramic studio we had in our basement. Like the rutabaga bag from my father, this lamp was always a favorite of mine.

Home decor aesthetics have changed a lot since the late 1970s. And despite my emotional affinity for the lamp, it has spent the last many years safely hidden on a dark shelf in our basement.

Here it is though, with yours truly, in all of its early 1980s glory.
