A cigar chomping butcher, knife in hand, stands behind the counter of his store in Snyder, Oklahoma in January of 1925. Here is the original photo along with a closer cropped version.

There are several very neat details in the photo.

The calendar on the wall appears to be from January of 1925. It is easier to see under a magnifying glass. By using timeanddate.com we see that, as in this photo, January 1, 1925 was a Thursday. The calendar lists the “Snyder Filling Station”, likely a neighbor of the butcher. You can also tell (again under magnification) that the calendar says “Snyder Oklahoma”.

On the left we see a butcher’s scale hanging from the ceiling. There is also some butcher’s twine and other packing supplies. Hanging on the walls are various meats.

Higher up on the wall are advertisements for “Wilson’s Dried Beef” and “Clear Brook Butter and Eggs”. Cut off on the far left is an advertisement for some type of cheese.

Here is an undated poster advertisement for Clear Brook Butter as a reference:

Some quick research revealed there was a “Snyder Filling Station” that changed ownership in 1925. It is hard to know for sure, but perhaps the butcher in this photo is the “Snyder Meat Market” listed in the 1930 newspaper advertisement.
